Semester Art

2) Why is art becoming increasingly important in our world?
Art is a creativity and it now widen with the difference of cultures. We have brought different cultures with different style and movements that we transform buildings to be build differently. Or we draw pictures with more color and more spontaneous.

3) Are you an artist? Why or why not? What makes an artist?
I don't claim myself as an artist because I don't find myself to be a very decent drawer or painter. I guess I could be considered one because I have a very good creativity, but when I try to draw it, it fails. To be an artist I think that what you see inside your head and to be able to put it on paper the way you see it is enough to be an artist. I guess one could be an artist at writing or drawing or anything..

4) What are your strengths and weaknesses as an artist?
My weaknesses is painting and drawing. Whatever I see inside my head can't be drawn on paper, like at all. It never comes out right, but I can tell you exactly how it's supposed to look in fine detail, how the colors are supposed to be--but I can't draw it. My strengths are 3-d images. I can take a bunch of stuff and put it together, but I can't draw it 3-D. I can do what I did with my wall and my dragonfly. Stuff like that; not draw and paint it to make it look pretty.

5) How has this year in general changed how you think/ or what you believe about something?
This year has changed because I'm putting more effort into my work and working harder. I think this year also changed more because I took more of a stand on what I think and I'm not afraid to say exactly what I mean to someone. Sure, it may get me in trouble but it's how i feel. It's a free country, you know?

6) Describe your invention we need in our life. Post a sketch.

7) How do you (realistically) think our world or our lives will change in the next 50 years? Post a sketch.

8) What is the biggest issue/ problem/ drama in your life? How does it effect your attitude?
My biggest problem/ drama in my life is girls who are ignorant and think they are better than me. It irritates me and it effects my attitude because I get mad and get sarcastic. Another thing problem I have is people insulting my weight and putting me down for how I look. It effects my attitude because the more people hurt me, I get more mad and annoyed and take it out on everyone.

9) If you could (realistically) change one thing about high school in general what would it be and why? I would probably take al the snobby, snotty girls who think they are better than me and the ones that put me down and have them leave and never come back. That's what I would change--change all the people I hate and get them out of this school so I wouldn't have see them and sit in agony and I wouldn't have the feel of hatred.

10) What is the biggest lesson you have learned so far in life? I have learned that if you drink if effects your life. I have learned by looking at my siblings that drinking takes over your life and that it destroys your life because its an addiction that you can't overcome, without therapy. I learned that life is made up of beliefs and they all result in lies. I have learned that my true friends are the ones that are the most honest with me and those are the ones to tell me to shut up, instead of ignore me. I have learned that those who giggle and laugh at stupidity or what people look like and say are ignorant and selfish and stupid. I have also learned that you can't trust everyone you say hi too--because some of them could be strangers. I have also learned not to open my heart up to people and let people in because I'll wind up getting hurt--even with family. I learned to build a wall to protect myself from getting hurt by everyone, so I'm kind of a.. well, you get it. I build my walls to not let people inside me so I don't fall apart again, like I have with my ex-friends and my family. Walls keep me sane and not lose it. That's what I learned: forgive and forget, trust and never believe. (:

Dragonfly on a Wall

Autumn Ulrich "Dragonfly on a Wall"
Mixed Media, 18x24
Newell-Fonda 9th

I learned that with using a dark background and using a a darker focus point isn't a good thing. It took me a while to figure out how to make the vines and to make it pop. My dragonfly took some time because it was hard for me to get the colors right to fit with my back ground. I liked how I got to use my creativity and make something look decent and I appreciate and like what I did.

What is Art? What is Creativity?

What is art? Art, I think, is when someones expresses themselves through drawing, painting or even writing. Art is when someone takes what they are feeling or an idea that comes to their minds and fill a piece of paper with color, and make a picture. Creativity is expression or feeling or ideas that com from your mind. Taking something, a random object maybe, and making a design out of really nothing..in my opinion means creativity. Creativity, i think, also is when someone explores colors and funny objects making something look unreal, cool, or amazing. That's what I think.
